"Self-care" sounds like something you need a spa membership and a free afternoon for. Most of us have neither. Between work, family, traffic and everything in between, there's barely time to drink your chai while it's hot.
So here's a realistic version: 10–20 minutes a day, a different focus each day, using things you already have at home.
Monday: reset your skin
Start the week with a proper cleanse and a gentle pore clean-up. If you get blackheads, use a pore cleaner on low suction (our step-by-step guide explains how). Finish with moisturiser.
Tuesday: move your body
A 20–30 minute brisk walk. That's it. The WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate activity a week — five walks gets you there.
Wednesday: release the desk tension
Midweek is when neck and shoulders feel it most. Do the stretches from our neck and shoulder pain guide, then 15 minutes with a heated neck massager while you watch something light.
Thursday: a proper grooming session
Tidy brows with a painless trimmer, or set aside time for epilating. Weekend-ready, no parlour queue.
Friday: treat yourself to a café moment
Make a frothy coffee or a cardamom whipped coffee at home with a coffee beater. Sit down. Drink it slowly. No phone. Here's our whipped coffee recipe.
Saturday: hair oiling and champi
Warm some oil, massage it into your scalp with a scalp massager, and leave it overnight. Read more about scalp massager benefits.
Sunday: recover and plan
- Use a massage gun on tired legs.
- De-pill your favourite sweater with a lint remover — oddly therapeutic.
- Prep some meals for the week so weekday evenings are easier.
- Get to bed on time. The NHS sleep tips are a good refresher.
Make it stick
- Attach it to an existing habit — massager after Isha, skincare right after brushing teeth.
- Keep tools visible. If they're in a drawer, you'll forget.
- Miss a day? Just carry on. It's not a test.
Self-care isn't selfish. It's how you keep showing up for everyone else. Find the tools in our health & beauty and massagers collections.
